Features of the treatment of bronchial asthma with homeopathy and the main drugs

Bronchial asthma is a respiratory tract disease characterized by the development of an inflammatory process. With illness, there are attacks of suffocation, intense coughing and other disturbances in the work of the respiratory system.

Among the reasons for the development of pathology include an acute allergic reaction to external stimuli. A number of experts advise using homeopathy for the treatment of bronchial asthma. This approach allows to achieve stable and long-term remission in some patients.

Features of bronchial asthma

Asthma is a chronic disease that is exacerbated by contact of the body with allergens:

  • fungi;
  • medications;
  • pollen of plants;
  • house dust;
  • irritants that enter the body when bitten by insects;
  • food and others.

The likelihood of developing asthma depends on the condition of the bronchi. The risk group for this pathology includes persons:

  • with a hereditary predisposition;
  • often suffering from respiratory diseases;
  • with increased reactivity of the bronchi;
  • living in conditions of poor ecology;
  • smokers.

The above factors contribute to the development, but do not cause bronchial asthma. The disease occurs only when exposed to irritating factors. This is due to the mechanism of the development of pathology.

With increased sensitivity to the effects of a certain irritant, the body produces immunoglobulins, which are involved in the process of inflammation of the bronchial tissues. This leads to swelling and infiltration of the mucous membrane, which increases the secretion of local glands and obstructs the airways.

The disease is characterized by intense suffocation, although in some cases the disease manifests itself as an intense and prolonged cough. Due to the active reaction of the body to the effect of the allergen, the work of the respiratory organs is disrupted: the patient experiences an acute shortage of oxygen due to the fact that he cannot breathe fully. The consequence of this process is cyanosis of the nasolabial triangle, a panic state caused by fear of imminent death.

When listening to the lungs, pronounced wheezing is noted. In some parts of the affected organs, breathing may be absent. Due to the lack of oxygen in the patient, the veins in the neck swell, and severe shortness of breath occurs.

Treatment of asthma with drugs of classical medicine

In view of the fact that bronchial asthma is characterized by symptoms characteristic of other pathologies, before starting drug treatment, it is necessary to make the correct diagnosis and identify the provoking factor. For this, the work of the respiratory system is checked by means of peak flowmetry and spirography.

In case of confirmation of the preliminary diagnosis, the doctor determines the nature of the course [M10] of the pathology. Depending on the frequency of asthma attacks and the intensity of the manifestation of other symptoms, appropriate medications are prescribed:

  1. Bronchodilators . They are used for rare attacks of suffocation (less than 1 time per week).
  2. Bronchodilators in combination with inhaled corticosteroids. The drugs are used if asthma attacks, accompanied by a slight change in peak expiratory flow rate and decreased activity, occur no more than 5 times a week.
  3. Long-acting bronchodilators , inhaled corticosteroids and leukotriene receptor antagonists. This combination of drugs is recommended in case of deviations in the speed and volume of inhaled air by 80% from the norm and daily attacks.
  4. Corticosteroids in the form of tablets and injection solutions in combination with the above drugs. This treatment regimen is used in severe pathology, when breathing is practically not normalized and the patient’s ability to work is sharply reduced.

Drug therapy does not cure pathology. In addition to taking medications to prevent exacerbations, the patient needs to make significant adjustments to his lifestyle.

Homeopathic Approach to Asthma Treatment

Two approaches are used in the treatment of the disease. The first involves taking medications to stop the attack. The second approach involves the implementation of measures aimed at preventing the exacerbation of pathology.

Similarly, asthma is treated with homeopathy. Moreover, in case of an exacerbation of the disease, it is recommended to combine this approach with the intake of medications – bronchodilators .

The latter is due to the fact that homeopathic treatment for asthma is a long-term process, during which the functioning of internal organs and systems is normalized.

When choosing drugs for treatment, the doctor takes into account the characteristics of the person, the causes of seizures, the presence of concomitant pathologies and other factors. The specialist also draws attention to the nature of the exacerbation of the disease and the type of drugs used to eliminate symptoms.

An important feature of homeopathy is that after a course of treatment, the duration of remission increases, the intensity of asthma is reduced and the patient’s recovery during the next attack is accelerated.

Homeopathic medicines for asthma

If you choose the right homeopathic remedies, asthma treatment will give positive results. This approach takes into account different nuances. In particular, when selecting funds, special attention should be paid to the cause of the seizures.

In the list of the main homeopathic medicines, there are medicines that stop the symptoms of a disease that has worsened due to new climatic conditions, a sharp change in ambient temperature, and a state of mind (fear, irritation, stress).

Other means stimulate the work of mechanisms that prevent the occurrence of the next exacerbation.

Drugs for the relief of asthma attacks

Asthma treatment is not recommended to start with homeopathic remedies. These drugs should play a supportive role. To stop the attacks of the disease, medicines are mainly used.

The effect of homeopathy becomes noticeable after some time. However, once this result is achieved, it will be easier to eliminate asthma with medication.

If an attack that begins at night is accompanied by a feeling of fear, profuse sweating and pain in the abdomen, Sambucus is recommended .

For the elderly, Lobelia is prescribed. When the attacks cause nausea and dizziness, and the patient’s face turns pale, Tabacum should be taken .

If the patient’s condition is complicated by shortness of breath, use Musk. To stop attacks associated with nervous stress, helps Ambergris Grizea .

Medications for use between asthma attacks

The treatment regimen for asthma between attacks should take into account the type of medication prescribed by the doctor. It is highly discouraged to stop taking or reduce the dosage of these drugs.

As part of homeopathic treatment of bronchial asthma symptoms between attacks, the following are used:

  • Blatta Orientais ;
  • Ipecacuanha ;
  • Antimonium Tartaricum ;
  • Aralia Racemosa ;
  • Sambucus Nigra ;
  • Arsenicum Album and Iodatum ;
  • Kali Carbonicum ;
  • Ammonium Carbonicum ;
  • Natrum Sulfuricum ;
  • Lachesis .

Blatta Orientais is used for bronchitis, which is accompanied by stagnant processes in the bronchi. The medicine is effective for allergic reactions to dust.

Ipecacuanha is recommended for attacks of nausea. Antimonium Tartaricum is indicated for shortness of breath, dyspnea, and cardiovascular dysfunction. This remedy is effective in cases when, due to an asthma attack, stagnant processes develop in the bronchi, and the skin in the area of the nasolabial triangle turns blue.

Aralia Racemosa is prescribed if the pathology manifests itself in the form of a cough that occurs immediately before going to bed. When these symptoms begin to bother after midnight, Sambucus Nigra is recommended . This remedy quickly eliminates cough, cyanosis and normalizes breathing.

Arsenicum Album and Iodatum are used if the attacks are disturbing between 0 and 3 am . Both drugs eliminate fears that arise when there is insufficient air intake into the body. For troublesome coughs between 2 and 4 am, Kali Carbonicum should be taken . This remedy is most effective in the treatment of bronchial asthma in patients with heart disease, joint diseases, and pathologies of the digestive system.

For coughing from 3 to 5 am Ammonium Carbonicum and Natrum Sulfuricum are used . The first remedy is prescribed to patients with severe congestion in the bronchi and shortness of breath, the second – to persons with a tendency to be overweight or obese.

Preparation Lachesis applied if disease exacerbation occurs prior to bedtime or immediately upon waking. Some experts consider this medicine to be the main medicine for relieving asthma.

Disadvantages of homeopathic treatment

There is no scientific evidence for the effectiveness of homeopathy in asthma. The positive results achieved within the framework of such treatment are mainly due to the individual characteristics of the patient.

In addition, it cannot be ruled out that it was possible to achieve positive changes in the patient’s condition with the help of medications and lifestyle correction.

The second important drawback is that it is impossible to cure pathology with homeopathy!

Finally

For asthma, homeopathic treatment may or may not be effective.

At the same time, it is forbidden to use this approach to therapy without consulting your doctor!

Moreover, homeopathy should not replace medication for bronchial asthma.
