Many people with asthma are wondering: “How accurate is the information that this tick can be aggravated by home ticks?”
This is true. According to modern concepts, two main causes lead to bronchial asthma: poor heredity and the environment. Allergens contained in dust are recognized as the most dangerous provocateurs of the disease. Unpleasant symptoms of bronchial asthma can begin to appear just after a long stay in a gassed and dusty environment.
Dust asthma
The fact that house dust can cause asthma was discovered a long time ago. The Flemish doctor John van Helmont, who lived in the middle of the 17th century, described one of his monk patients: “… as soon as the wind or it raises dust, it falls and suffocates …” However, in those days they did not know the true reason that causes asthma attacks. It was only in 1960 that it was discovered that the main allergic component of dust is mites, or rather, their feces, containing a protein called guanine.
Studies conducted around the world have revealed that people suffering from asthma attacks have an increased sensitivity to these allergens. There are 85% of such people.
Ticks and bronchial asthma
Dust mites live in almost every home. They have very small dimensions (about 0.3 mm) and therefore are not visible to the naked eye. In one mattress they can live up to 2 million. Their favorite habitats are upholstered furniture, bedding, carpets, fabrics.
The food for house dust mites is skin flakes. Since the infected person loses up to one gram of such outdated cells every day, there is no lack of food for parasites.
Mites grow and multiply most quickly with increased humidity (they cannot drink and therefore absorb moisture from the air with the surface of their entire body). In addition, the growth of ticks depends on temperature. These creatures are unable to independently regulate it and die in the cold. Therefore, clinics for patients with asthma are trying to build high in the mountains, where it is cold and dry.
How to eliminate dust mites and limit their impact on humans?
To reduce the manifestations of the disease and begin the correct treatment of bronchial asthma, try to create similar conditions in your apartment and minimize contact with home ticks. To do this, it is enough to remove soft toys and carpets in the house, remove the curtains, and regularly conduct wet cleaning.
It is very important to take care of the bed. Often “fry” all bedding in the sun or frost. Now without problems you can buy the so-called anti-allergenic protective covers. Their use, as studies have shown, reduces morning attacks of bronchial asthma by 4 times.
